This is the beginning of the "public memory" for motorsport. We will be producing "public memories" for several areas of mass interest ie football, WWII, transport etc.
One of the best motor sport events in the UK, I believe, is held each summer at the estate of the Earl of March in Sussex.
The Festival of Speed, and its sister event the Revival Meeting, are superbly organised celebrations of motorsport that will appeal to both motoring fanatics as well as those with only a mild interest in all things automotive.
The autumn Revival Meeting is heavily biased towards motor sport nostalgia but the Festival is more varied and offers displays / parades and competitve runs for both old and modern cars.
